I feel really bad when I waste paint - it's money down the drain and the less garbage I produce, the better I feel. I always inevitably had some oil paint leftover on my palette after I finished a session of painting, so I tried to come up with a creative way to use it instead of scraping it into the trash. I've long been fond of abstract and non-representational painting, which inspired me to simply transplant the leftover paint from the palette onto a blank canvas. Each painting is built up over hundreds of painting sessions, using only the paint left over from my other work. There is no predetermined design and each glob of paint simply goes where I think it works.
